Every fall, the leaves change and festivals pop up everywhere you turn. For the last five years at Flacks, we have hosted our annual Flacktoberfest celebration, inviting everyone to come experience a fun, outdoor family carnival. This year, we had another year of perfect weather and the biggest turnout yet! On Saturday, October 22, guests feasted on yummy BBQ, fresh from an on-site smoker, and lots of other additional refreshments. Kids (and several adults) checked out games and attractions such as moon walks, inflatable slides, corn hole, ping-pong and face painting! There was a little something for everybody and smiles all around!
This free community event is also the one of our favorite times of the year because we donate 2% of the proceeds from all of our flooring sales for that week to the non-profit, Young Life of Forsyth County. This year we are very proud to say that we were able to donate $5,125.98 to this amazing organization! President of Flacks Flooring, Brad Flack, looks forward to this event every year because “it brings our community together for a day of fun and allows us to meet past (and sometimes future) customers. Kids love our Pink Panther statues and so many of the adults tell us how much a local business like Flacks means to them and their community.” The Area Director of the Forsyth chapter of Young Life, Chris Ashburn, says “it is a blessing to work with a wonderful local business like Flacks. The monies raised from their annual Flacktoberfest celebration assist us year-round with our mission of helping kids of all ages. For that we are truly grateful.”
This world-class organization for adolescents reaches kids through what matters most to them – fun, adventure, friendship and a sense of significance. Beginning with a few simple ideas about sharing the truth of God’s love with adolescents, Young Life uses time-tested methods for reaching out to high school students in friendship and hope.
