Once again this October, your favorite local carpet store is throwing a big fall bash complete with food, prizes, games and activities for the whole family. Plus, all sales leading up to the day of the event will support Young Life Christian Ministry. Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 10am to 4pm, we’ll have our seasonal and kid-friendly community celebration set up with face painting, pony rides, inflatables and more. In addition to Saturday’s carnival, 2% of all flooring sales made the day before, Friday, October 24, will go to Young Life, an organization dedicated to providing adolescents ministry, leadership, friendship and safety.
This year, Flack’s has teamed up with 104.7 The Fish to create an October festival everyone can enjoy. Food and refreshments will be available including free barbecue, fresh from an on-site smoker. Kids will have a blast bouncing in a bouncy castle and sliding down an inflatable slide and there’s plenty to occupy parents, too. Saturday, enter to win $800+ worth of prizes including a 32” Sharp TV valued at $300 and a $500 gift certificate to the store. Radio talent from 104.7 will announce surprise live giveaways throughout the day as well. Winners will be selected at the end of the festival. This fun-filled event is all set to take place on the lawn outside of our warehouse located conveniently at 5750 Georgia Highway 400, behind our iconic Pink Panther statues.
In the past, our customers have loved Flacktoberfest! Whether you decide to stay all day or just want to stop by and say hello, we’d be happy to see you come out to our fall play day! Our hope each year is for our annual Flacktoberfest to function as a way of bringing the community together and letting us show our sincere appreciation for our customers and thank you all for supporting Flack’s!
This month’s event benefits Young Life. The Young Life organization starts with adults who are concerned enough about kids to go to them “on their turf,” so to speak, and build bridges of authentic friendship. These relationships don’t happen overnight. They take time, patience, trust and consistency. Young Life leaders log many hours with kids — where they are, as they are. They listen to their stories and learn what’s important to them. To them, this represents the power of presence. Kids’ lives are dramatically influenced when caring adults walk alongside them, sharing God’s love. Through its camps, campaigns and clubs, Young Life shows young adults that their lives have purpose, meaning and worth.
